La historia detrás de la acuarela de Molly y su proceso en fotos

Todo comenzó cuando la tarea de realizar una obra de arte para una exibición final fue dada. decidí que iba a hacer un retrato en acuarela, mi tecnica favorita. Y lo que quería era una fotografía de un rostro totalente iluminado, casi desvaneciendose en blanco. Busqué por fotos de muchas actirces y actores que tuvieran piel pálida, tipo alabastro, perfiles que pudieran tener ese tipo de fotos. No pude encontrar muchas. Coemncé a buscar entonces a través de fotos en mi computadora que guardo porque me gustaría hacer un retrato de ellas en lagún momento libre. Ahí es donde encontré en una de las muchas carpetas la foto de Molly, una foto que había guardado verdaderamente pensando en hacer un retrato de ella algún día, y el momento había llegado.
Entre otros trabajos y un ensayo que tuve que entregar a la universidad alrededor de las mismas fechas, tuve 6 días restantes para hacerla. Yo realmente quería el retrato de Molly termiando para la exibición, asique en un estado inconciente de mente para no estresarme tanto comencé a pintar, si no la terminaba iba a llevar algún otro retrato a la exibición, pero quería mucho más el de Molly.
 Afortunadamente luego de algunas crisis debido a pequeños contratiempos de agua luciendo como aureolas debido a la cantidad de material, capas  y agua en la pintura que fuí capás de resolver, la pintura estaba lista a tiempo :).
El 7 de noviembre la llevé a la universidad, pero antes de irme la subía a Deviantart y a twitter etiquetando a Molly con alguna esperanza de que ella la viera pero no muy altas. Lo que nunca hubiera esperado fué la alucinante sorpresa y felicidad que reciví en mi vuelta a casa, cuando ví que la hermosa Molly y Stana habían visto la pintura y compartido con el mundo y cientos de personas la estaban viendo también, retwiteando y comentado hermosas amables palabras.
 El sentimiento que tuve viendo mis notificaciones ir como locas, como nunca lo hicieron antes, a causa de ambas que lo compartieron con el mundo y por el mundo que reaccionó a mi pintura en una manera encantadora.
Estoy completamente extasiada, se sintió tan irreal y hermoso. Todos ustedes hicieron mi día, nunca tuve una reacción tan grande, incluso hoy estaba todavía recibiendo comentarios, retweets y favorites, en realidad ahora hace unos minutos, recibí otro cometario. Hoy estaba chequeando y mi tweet recibió 28 favoritess y 7 RTs, el de Molly recibió 444 favorites y 61 RTs y el de Stana 1.417 favorites! y 505 RTs y todavía recibiendo algunos más y también sin contar los dulces comentarios. Es una locura, no lo puedo creer, me han hecho muy felíz.
Hoy copié todos los comentarios y los imprimí para guardarlos en mi caja de recuerdos.

En caso de que alguien de uruguay lo esté leyendo la muestra se abrira el miercoles 12 de 18 a 20 horas en la Universidad de Bellas Artes en 18 de julio esquina Gaboto, y se exibirá en el subsuelo(gimnacio) y en el salón de seminario 1 en el segundo piso hasta el viernes 14, es una muestra de toda la clase de tercero llena de diferentes diciplinas, fotografía, pintura, escultura, audiovisual.

The story behind Molly's watercolor and its process in photos

Everything started when the assignment of making a work of art for a final exhibition was given. I decided that I was going to make a portrait in watercolor, my favorite technique. And what I wanted was a photograph of a fully lighted face, almost vanishing in white. I searched for pictures of many actresses and actors that would have pale skin, kinda alabaster, profiles that could have that kind of pictures. I couldn't find many. I started searching thoughout photos in my computer that I save beacause I would like to make a portrait of them in some free moment. There is where I found in one of the many folders the photo of Molly, a picture that I had saved relly thinking of doing a portrait of it someday, and the moment had arrived. Between other assignments and an essay I had to deliver to college around the same dates, I had 6 remaining days to make it. I badly wanted the portrait of molly finished for the exhibition, so in an anconcious state of mind to not get too much stressed I started painting, if I didn't finish it I was going to take some other portrait to the exhibition, but I wanted Molly's. Luckily after some crisis due to little mishaps of water looking like aureoles due to the amount of material, layers and water in the painting that I was able to solve, the painting was ready on time :). On november 7 I took it to Uni, but before leaving home I uploaded it on Deviant art and Twitter tagging Molly with some hope of she seeing it but not so high ones. What I would have never expected was the mindblowing surprice and happines I recived on my way back home, when I saw that beautiful Molly and Stana had seen the painting and shared it with the world and handreds of people was seeing it too, RTing and commentig beautiful kind words. The feeling I had seeing my notifications go like crazy like it never did before, due to the two kind ladies that shared it with the world and to the world that reacted to my painting in an entrancing way. I'm utterly blown away, it felt so unreal and beautiful. you all made my day, I've never had a that bigger reaction, even today I was already receiving comments, RTs and favorites, actually right now, two minutes ago I received another comment. Today I was checking and my tweet received 28 favorites, and 7 RTs, Molly's tweet receved 444 favorites and 61 RTs and Stana's 1.417 favorites! and 505 RTs and still reciving some more and also not counting all the cute comments. It's crazy, I can't believe it, you have made me so happy.
Today I copied all the comments and printed them to save it in my memory box.

Analogic pics/ fotos analógicas

Here are some of the analogic pics I have talked about in previous posts. I have around 5 other films waiting to be developed. The problem is that I looove to take pics, many, and here the development of the film is not that cheap, so it goes slowly, but here you have some random ones, from different places and the ones I took when I did the instalation with the group in the beach. They're not amazing pics but I think is not that bad, I can't still have the feeling of, wow! I love how this one looks, is kinda harder to adapt yourself to the analogic cameras, you have to think the shot for this one to be good, it not like in digital cameras in which you can take a pic, check it out, and if it is not entirely ok in the next one you correct the mistake, you have to be good with what you see and your crativity.

Aquí estan algunas de las fotos analógicas que estuve hablando en publicaciones previas. Tengo alrededor de otros 5 rollos esperando a ser revelados. El problema es que aamoo tomar fotos, muchas, y aquí el revelado del rollo no es tan barato, asique va de apoco, pero aquí tienen algunas diversas, de diferentes lugares y las que tomé cuando hice la instalación con el grupo en la playa. No son fotos increíbles pero creo que no estan tan mal, no puedo tener aún el sentimiento de, wow! amo como luce esa, es un poco dificil adapterse a las camaras analógicas, tienes que pensar la toma para que esta sea buena, no es como en las cámaras digitales en las cuales tu tomas la foto, la revisas, y si no está enteramente bien en la próxima corriges el herror, tienes que ser bueno con lo que ves y tu creatividad.

Uni assignment, busy weekend, new pics / Trabajo de la universidad, fin de semana ocupado, nuevas fotos

Hello everybody, how was your weekend?, mine was pretty busy. Had to take some photos for a Uni assignment and it was in group. The part of assembling the installation was so much fun, we had to represent the Infinity in three pics and we picked the beach. We also had to pick an object that was going to appear in the photo, so we assembled a row of yellow ballons. It was so fun and the day was beautiful, so sunny.
Well the stressing part came when we had to decide from all the pics, only three. I don't tend to have problems discarting photos but this time we were four, with two days to finish the work and two of the classmates couldn't get together with me and Alicia, so we were through a group of Face deciding, but of course not all of us connected at the same time, it was a chaos, so stressful.
I have promissed to myself to not get that much stressed for a Uni assignment again, does it happen to you? that you just can't control your feelings, it just happen. Well I'm trying to fix it, and don't let this situations affect me in a high level that could risk affecting my health, it's not good. So if it happen to you just try this, it kinda help sometimes, it helped last weekend, deep breath, put some music you like that help you realx, and face the problem like it wouldn't be one, just solve it tranquil, one step at a time.
 After doing that I ended up going to Alicia's house and discarting some pics, we choosed six and reupload them to the Facebook group. Between phonecalls and Face comments we could pick the definitive tree photos and the assignment was delivered in time.

So remember the next time you be in a stressful situation, just follow the steps, and try to calm down, you'll find the solution faster this way. :)

Hola todo el mundo, ¿como estuvo su fin de semana?, el mío bastante ocupado. Tuve que omar algunas fotos para un trabajo de la universidad y era en grupo. La parte de ensamblar la instalación fue muy divertida, teníamos que representar el infinito en tres fotos y escogimos la playa. También tuvimos que elegir un objeto que iba a aparecer en la foto, asique ensamblamos una hilera de globos amarillos. Fue tan divertido y el día estaba hermoso, muy soleado.
Bueno la  parte estresante vino cuando tuvimos que decidir de todas las fotos, solo tres. Yo no tiendo a tener problemas descartando fotos pero esta vez eramos cuatro, con dos días para teminar el trabajo y dos de las copañeras no podían reunirse con migo y Alicia, asique estabamos decidiendo a través de un prupo de Face, pero porsupuesto no todas conectadas al mismo tiempo, era un caos, tan estresante.
 Me he prometido a mi misma no ponerme tan estresada por un trabajo de la universidad otra vez, ¿te suele pasar? que simplemente no puedes controlar tus sentimientos, tan solo sucede. Bueno estoy intentando corregirlo, y no dejar que estas situaciones me afecten en un nivel tan alto que arriesgue afectar mi salud, no es bueno. Asique que si esto tes sucede solo intenta esto, ayuda un poco aveces, ayudó el fin de semana, respiraa hondo, pon música que te guste y que te ayude a relajarte, y enfrenta el problema como si no fuera uno, tan solo resuelvelo tranquilamente, un paso a la vez.
Luego de hacer esto terminé llendo a la casa de Alicia y descartando algunas fotos, escogimos seis y las volvimos a subir al grupo de Face. Entre llamadas y comentarios de Face pudimos elegir las tres fotos definitivas y el trabajo fue entregado en fecha.

Asique recuerda la proxima vez que estés en una situación estresante, tan solo sigue los pasos, y trata de calmarte, encontrarás la solución más rápido de esta manera. :)


Here some pics I took in the beach, their not part of the Uni assignment, just pics I took while I was there, there are more photos coming in some days, took with my Pentax because I haven't had the time to take the film to develop.

Aquí algunas fotos que tomé en la playa, no son parte del trabajo de la universidad, tan solo fotos que tomé mientras estaba allí, hay más viniendo en unos días, tomadas con mi Pentax porque no he tenido el tiempo de llevar la película a revelar.

My amazing new treasure/ Mi increible nuevo tesoro

The last weekend on a fair near my house, a fair that is made every sunday. I found a little trasure. I couldn't belive my eyes when I saw a beautiful analogic Pentax. Here in  my country you can't even find digital Pentax cameras, you see Nikon and Cannon but not Pentax. when I saw it I inmediately ask for the price and it was $1000 that would be 41 dolars, but in that moment I hadn't all the money because that day I didn't went to the fair thinking in buying a camera. I couldn't leave it there so I ask him to save me the camera, that I was going to go back to my house for the rest of the money and come back to buy it. He asked me to leave a little part of the total because many people aks him to save some object sometimes and then never come back. So I left the part and I rushed way back to my home. The sky was tuning gray, threatening to rain and therefore my camera disappearing because the sale is outdoors and with no roof. I reached my house, took the money and runned back to the fair with the first drops of rain. Luckily the man was still there, already guthering stuff but was there, with my camera in a bug for me and here it is :).

El fin de semana pasado en una feria cerca de mi casa, una feria que se realiza cada domingo. Encontré un pequeño tesoro. No podía creer a mis ojos cuando vi una hermosa Pentax analógica. Aquí en mi país no se puede encontrar ni siquiera camaras Pentax digitales, ves Nikon y Cannon pero no Pentax. Cuando la vi inmediatamente pregunté por el precio y este era $1000 que serían 41 dolares, pero en ese momento no tenía todo el dinero porque no había ido a la feria pensando en comprarme una cámara. No la podía dejar allí asique le pregunté si podía guardarme la camara, que iba a volver a mi casa por el resto del dinero y volver a comprarla. Él me pidió dejar una pequeña parte del total ya que muchas personas le piden que le guarde algún objeto a veces y luego nunca vuelven. Asique dejé la parte y corrí rapidamente a mi casa. El cielo se estaba tornando gris, amenazando con llover y por lo tanto mi camara desapareciendo ya que la venta es al aire libre y sin techo. Alcanzé mi casa, tomé el dinero y corrí de regreso a la feria con las prieras gotas de lluvia. Por suerte el hombre estaba todavía allí, ya juntando cosas pero estaba allí, con mi camara en una bolsa para mi y aquí está :).

 

This week I bought a film and I already took the pictures. I have to develop the film but when I'll have the photos with me I will write a post about it.

Esta semana compré una película y ya tomé las fotos. Tengo que revelarlo pero cuando tenga las fotos escribiré un post sobre ellas.

Here some photos of my other treasures. The two Zenit are working, also the Pentax, sadly the Nikon is stuck, the advance lever doesn't move but I'm pretty sure is fixable, the Practika needs even more help, has the same problem of the Nikon but something in the lens is also wrong beacuse it doesn't capture nor focus any image and sometimes it doesn't lock the film but is a beautiful model anyway :).

Aquí algunas fotos de  mis otros tesoros. Las dos Zenit estan funcionando, también la Pentax, tristemente la Nikon esta trancada, la palanca de avance no se mueve pero estoy segura que tiene arreglo, la Practika necesita más ayuda, tiene el mismo problema de la Nikon pero algo en el lente esta mal también porque no caftura ni enfoca ninguna imagen y a veces no tranca la película pero es una hermosa modelo de todas maneras :).

 

In the case you were wondering how a fair is in my country, because I'm pretty sure it is not like in USA or Europe, actually I don't think the word fair discribe it, but I couldn't find other, here some pics, not taken by me. 

En el caso de que se estén preguntando como es una feria en mi país, ya que estoy segura de que no es como en USA o Europa, en realidad no creo que la palabra fair la describa, pero no pude encontrar otra, aquí algunas fotos, no tomadas por mi.

 Now that you saw it, how would you call it in english? because as  I said I can't match this with the word fair.

Ahora que la vieron, como la llamarían en inglés? porque como dije no puedo unir esto con la plabra fair.
